Pasi Rauhala was born in Lahti in 1978 and currently lives and works in Lohja. His works deal with themes from everyday life, and he constructs them mainly from old and recycled materials. Rauhala plays humorously with a sense of scale, yet this lightness is almost always balanced with an underlying seriousness.
Rauhala has participated in group exhibitions within Finland and abroad since 2004, and had his first solo exhibition in 2008. His most ambitious current project is Pasi Rauhala’s Home Museum. The project tells a story of Rauhala’s own alter ego. The project will take various forms as it tours to several museums. The latest incarnation of Pasi Rauhala’s Home Museum was open in Jyväskylä Art Museum 2015 and its still there.
